The official Palm Beach Freedivers website has been moved! Basically, over the last couple years it has been difficult to maintain the site with schedules and life in general. Not wanting it to go away I decided we needed a solution or the site would just eventually go away. So, I've adapted a template based site that allows me to update the site much easier than ever before in addition to having several really cool features that I don't have to figure out how to properly code. The main new capabilities are: 1. Easy updates...REALLY EASY These are just a few of the cool new benefits, the key here is that they are all easy. The reality is that we could have always had that...but now it's just easy and that's the real issue. For those curious, this isn't new technology, I'm just using Apple's iLife suite along with my .Mac account for the benefit of everyone in the club (I pay for this, it does not come out of club funds). I was never into the whole "template" cookie cutter type of sites, but we're not trying to win design awards. Overall, I'm very happy with the new site and I think keeping everyone up to date will finally be more realistic. Thanks for everyone's continued support into 2008, I think it will be a great year for our club and I'm looking forward to some new events in addition to our usual tournaments. - Les, (not an elected club officer, just a volunteer) |
